One Sky Above Us: Montana and the Nez Perce Flight of 1877
Austin Haney, Interpretive Ranger at Bear Paw Battlefield, Nez Perce National Historical Park, will present a synopsis of the Nez Perce story, focusing on the final month of their flight for freedom through Montana, the last battle, and the complicated legacy of one of the West’s most poignant episodes. He will highlight the special nature of the Nez Perce Historic Trail today, which is still much as the Nez Perce would have seen it then.
