Film Premiere: “The Spirit of the People”: Black Eagle and the Anaconda Company

On Saturday, August 10 at 1:00 p.m., a documentary film titled The Spirit of the People: Black Eagle and the Anaconda Company will premiere as part of The History Museum’s Second Saturday program. This Big Sky Country National Heritage Area Inc. project was produced by Erin Schermele Films from oral history interviews conducted with Richard “Dick” Sloan, the last operations director of the Anaconda Company smelter and refinery. Saturday’s event is free, and Dick Sloan will be on hand to answer questions about his work with the smelter. Refreshments will be served after the film viewing.
