Tintype Photography Experience with Northland Studios (Chris Chapman) At CM Russell Museum
Tintype Photography Experience with Northland Studios (Chris Chapman)
Step into the early days of photography in this one-of-a-kind tintype experience led by Chris Chapman. Using a 19th-century process, each image is created on a metal plate, exposed in-camera, and developed on-site – resulting in a finished photograph within minutes that can’t be duplicated.
This is an intimate, educational observation experience rather than a hands-on class. Participants select a one-hour time slot for a small group setting, where you’ll watch Chris move through the full process, from preparing the plate to developing the final image, while explaining the craft, chemistry, and artistic decisions behind each portrait.
Each participant will leave with their own finished tintype portrait. No experience necessary; all materials provided.
Date: May 16
Time: One-hour sessions from 10 AM–2 PM
Cost: $200 members / $225 non-members
