United Way of Cascade County: Day of Caring
United Way of Cascade County is recruiting volunteer teams to spend three hours raking leaves for local seniors as part of our annual Day of Caring.
We are focusing on Nov. 3, but your team can pick a day and time in that week that works for you. United Way will provide rakes, if needed, and garbage bags.
Teams can be five or more people. This is a great volunteer opportunity for all ages. We will also form teams from individual volunteers.
Volunteers rake leaves, trim trees and do some light home maintenance for elderly or disabled homeowners in Great Falls that are unable to do such things for themselves.
United Way partners with Aging Services, the Retired & Senior Volunteer Program and Meals on Wheels to identify homeowners who could use this service.
“The Day of Caring is just that – a day when we as volunteers can show that we care about our neighbors and our community,” United Way President Gary Owen said. “Each year, volunteers step up and we are able to help more people.”
