Description:
This weekend workshop will start Friday evening with ideation and preparation for assembly and finishing on Saturday. Participants will use plaster slip casting molds to instead press mold sculptures or functional works. Emphasis will be on using multiple molds and attachments for the completed piece with discussion and demonstrations to guide. Color will be added in the workshop with guidance on the final glazing.
Instructor Bio: Eliza Weber
Eliza Weber completed her MFA at Arizona State University and BFA at The University of Montana. She has completed short residencies at Medalta in Alberta, Canada and The Pottery Workshop in Jingdezhen, China. Eliza was also an Artist in Residence at Pottery Northwest in Seattle, Washington. Returning home, she served for 3 years as Director of Education at Paris Gibson Square Museum of Art in Great Falls, Montana. She served on the boards of NCECA and the Ceramics Research Center, presently serving on the NCECA Green Task Force. Eliza is currently a Long-Term Resident at the Archie Bray Foundation in Helena, Montana.
